Local Lobbying and the Lobbying Act: An Examination of Lobbying Laws on Land Use

On December 2, 2021, the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics and the Center for City Law at New York Law School presented a virtual CLE panel, ""Local Lobbying and the Lobbying Act: An Examination of Lobbying Laws on Land Use", to examine the application of the New York State Lobbying Act and local lobbying laws to land use with a particular focus on: what constitutes lobbying, what triggers reportable lobbying, and what factors should be considered when analyzing lobbying laws in the land use context.

Lobbying Overview Training and Demonstration

On February 5, 2020, the Commission hosted a training session entitled “JCOPE Training Opportunity: Clarifications about the Comprehensive Lobbying Regulations” for Lobbyists, Clients and other interested parties regarding the Commission's comprehensive lobbying regulations and online lobbying application. The training was divided into two parts: Part 1 relates to the Regulations and Part 2 relates to the Lobbying Application.

Lobbying Overview Training

On September 20, 2018, the Commission hosted a Lobbying Overview Training session for Lobbyists, Clients of Lobbyists, Public Corporations, and other interested parties regarding the Commission's comprehensive lobbying regulations, which go into effect January 1, 2019.

At this training, members of the lobbying community were given the opportunity to explore and learn more about key elements of the new regulations.
